
Introduction to the Performance Advancement process and system
The University of Stellenbosch has made noteworthy progress in enhancing its approach to Performance Advancement, formerly known as Performance Management. This innovative approach is designed to foster greater consistency and fairness across the institution. The updated Performance Advancement process will be implemented from January 2026. This introduction serves as preparation to equip staff with the necessary skills to navigate the process.
Performance Advancement has a strong developmental focus that aims to support the reward and recognition of top performers – a key step towards supporting excellence in a sustainable and transparent manner. Performance Development is embedded in the process to support the ongoing skills development of our entire staff complement.
